Studio 10

Studio 10 Center for the Arts is a space for kids & teens to express their creativity through art, music, theater and performance. Offering weekly classes for moms and tots, homeschool groups, MOMS Clubs, and preschool/elementary/middle/high school students, Studio 10 has something for everyone!

Studio 10 Center for the Arts is owned and operated by Wendy Ann Mitchell– actor, writer, teacher, wife and mother of three. Wendy holds her Head Teaching Certification through the State of Connecticut in Early Childhood and majored in English Literature and Early Childhood Education at Post University.

Our teachers include:

ART: Lindsey Howard Edwards, a well-known expert in teaching fine arts classes for children from painitng and drawing to sculpture. Lindsey helps children create imaginative masterpieces that encourage kids to express themselves with a number of varied materials.

ART: Kat Michaud is specializes in charcoal drawings and the abstract. Kat uses items found in nature to create beautiful works of art such as dream catchers, bird houses and other  nature related materials.

ART: Grace Napoleon specializes in Trashy Fashion, items made from duct tape, trash bags and other recycled materials. Grace has a unique flair for creating beautiful, wearable, usable pieces out of everyday items.

ART: Jen Matlack is a writer and an expert in decoupage. Jen creates ornaments, windchimes and garden markers out of silverware and other upcycled materials and covers them with beautiful textures and layers to create one-of-a-kind gifts and artwork.

THEATER, PUPPETRY, MOMMY & ME, MUSIC & MOVEMENT: Wendy was a daycare director, a preschool teacher, and a musical theater teacher at a private school. She created and led a youth and children’s drama program at a local church for 10 years writing, directing, and producing dramas geared towards youth. The interactive dramas she wrote included music, drama and video. Wendy uses humor, song, dance, and a dazzling array of glow-in-the-dark props, puppets and special effects to capture your child’s attention. Mesmerizing lights and funny skits are sure to entertain your little one and make their special day the talk of the town.

MUSIC: Classes in voice, guitar, piano, drums, flute, shakuhachi (Japanese wood flute) will be offered, instructor to be announced soon.

Studio 10 hosts special events on the weekends, live bands, open mic night for teens, black light parties, monthly holiday and cultural puppet shows, kids karaoke and the coolest, most fun birthday parties around. Book your Sweet 16 party at Studio 10 for a one-of-a-kind experience with the DJ and black lights included! Special events will also include monthly holiday or cultural themes puppet shows, arts and craft drop-in sessions, open mic night and more.
